What A Year!!!
By God’s grace and your support empowered us to help people get educated about covid-19,housing clients to keep them safe from the outbreak, feeding the citizens of this community that were struggling due to loss of jobs and paying utilities, rent, and buss transportation. We gave guidance to those seeking help by referring them to other organizations with partners we work with in the community. We helped over 2700 individuals spending over $215,000 in assisting them with clothing, food , rent ,utilities, dental care, housing, Christmas gifts and Christmas trees, flu shots, fan give away , spiritual guidance and hygiene products to keep them safe and clean.
We had to adjust our scope of helping others to better our community.
The challenges we faced were that we were not able to have any of our group sessions or “Getting Ahead classes” due to covid.
We did have our Walk to Siloam spiritual journey in February. Due to covid concerns we were not able to hold any group meetings following the walk. We had to take extreme measures and not admit any new clients into our housing program from March thru December. We had to adjust our operating hrs and educate staff and volunteers to new standards due to covid. Even with all the challenges we were still there for individuals and families needing help and no one ever got covid from our outreach. Praise God.
