Mission 911’s Mission statement: is to reach out to the homeless citizens and the hard-to-serve population of this community and provide them with shelter, meals, food supplies, transportation, opportunities to learn and use a vocational skill and a place to worship and learn more about God’s grace. Mission 911 is a nonprofit 501c3 Faith-based Mission that serves the Coastal Bend community by providing apartments, vocational support, spiritual support, and hope for adults of all ages of the hard-to-serve population. It is innovative in that it provides mentoring programs, Basic Life skills programs, Substance abuse programs and vocational training on site as well housing for those in need. We are giving them an alcohol and drug free environment and a family neighborhood atmosphere helps to break the cycle that many have lived with for so long. We become the support group for those that are struggling with finding and maintaining employment. We are continuously looking for ways for our citizens of the Coastal Bend to serve the Corpus Christi community and surrounding areas to become self-sufficient. We provide technological assistance to access needed resources to create and maintain an online database that all helping agencies in the area can access to provide comprehensive information on various services and programs available within the Coastal Bend area.
We strive to help people at risk and overcome barriers with spiritual guidance. All classed offered are on voluntary basis but are encouraged to participate. This project has to do with residents and others in the community seeking spiritual outreach. This includes, but not limited to:
- Walk to Siloam: Three and half day Spiritual Journey for the Homeless Men.
- Bible Studies: Tuesday 7pm; Wed 7pm; Thursday 7pm.
- Alpha Program: A 12wk study to give the person a better understanding of whom Jesus Christ is.
- Spiritual Services: Sunday 6pm
- Mission Trips/Spiritual Retreats: Men and women are encouraged to participate in Mission Trips.
- Outreach Projects: Men and Women are encouraged to participate in the community to help their fellow man in need.
“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.
For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” –Luke 6:38 NIV
